Senior Service Designer

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Work at the STS Taskforce is fast-paced and presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate, design and deliver whole-of-government outcomes. The role provides the opportunity to work across government bringing together a broad suite of skills, including strategic policy, regulatory reform, data and digital strategy, human-centred design, business engagement, program management, and corporate support.

The STS Taskforce has a vacancy for a Senior Service Designer.

The position is an individual role within the Digital, Data and Design Branch reporting directly to the Product Manager. This role provides the opportunity to work across all levels of government to ensure whole-of-government outcomes for the STS reform agenda and effective STS Taskforce operations, working alongside a highly collaborative and passionate human-centred design team to facilitate the creation of concepts that bring together user needs with feasibility considerations.

Duties include:

Under limited direction, the accountabilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Plan and facilitate user research and stakeholder co-design sessions to support a shared understanding, identify opportunities and workshop problems, for small and large groups, remotely and in person.
• Identify actionable insights from research and co-design activities to inform design and delivery recommendations.
• Lead service design activities, challenge established thinking, and develop new approaches to solve complex design problems.
• Create concepts to help test ideas and assumptions and workshop problems.
• Create artefacts that communicate and support the visualisation of complex ideas and relationships in a simple way.
