Lead Service Designer

About the role:

• Shape and drive the creation of useable, desirable and effective solutions using human-centred design methods with a strong focus on translating ambiguous requirements into actionable outcomes
• Define the approach, plan which methods to use and deliver actionable outcomes by carrying out design and research activities within a cross functional team
• Lead the communication of design ideas and decisions to the delivery team and our clients for further exploration
• Coach and mentor other designers
• Lead our clients to understand and maintain good human centred design practices
• Innovate, experiment and evolve your design approach and methodologies
• Grow the internal toolkit and capabilities of the design business

The skills/attributes you will bring:

• Fluent in all stages of the end to end design and delivery phases to drive and create digital solutions
• Select the most appropriate tool, design methods, practices and implementations to achieve the best outcome and continuously grow your skill set
• Expertise with a diverse set of design practices across multiple platforms and devices (e.g. visual and interaction design, prototyping and user testing)
• Driven to solve interesting and complex problems and develop solutions to make things better
• You are passionate about understanding and helping humans
• You build relationships with technical counterparts within a cross functional team, or from the wider business to deeply understand the problem
• Able to provide our clients with strategic direction and clarity through understanding the wider business and user objectives, motivations, opportunities or problems across multiple platforms, devices, cultures and geographies (e.g. competitor landscape, market trends, analytics, user research etc)
• Be a trusted advisor to our client
• You are comfortable operating in an Agile / Lean Startup environment
• As a skilled communicator and influencer, you are comfortable with interacting with all levels of business and able to facilitate effective workshops and meetings
• You are comfortable with navigating ambiguity and discovering structure and outcomes through it
