Principal Service Designer

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Principal Service Designer to improve Government recruitment and career development policies, products, and services for Victorians.

Using your advanced experience in applying the design process to problem-solving and exceptional communication and collaboration skills, you will work with our product team responsible for our recruitment and career development products, such as the Jobs and Skills Exchange, CareersVic and Join a public board.

Together you will co-design with our stakeholders, recruiters, and candidates to gain valuable insights and blueprint the step by step, ‘end-to-end journey’ of the recruitment landscape supporting collaborative work across government to solve complex policy and service delivery problems by applying human-centred design principles.

About you

You possess a strong knowledge in service and product management, including human centred design. You have a drive for advocating and championing a user-centric mindset for our people, working alongside other designers to uplift the maturity of the Commission’s understanding of design thinking. You also understand the potential to humanise and scale services and looking at large system change and what is needed.

Experience and qualifications  

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant demonstrated experience leading large and small projects autonomously and simultaneously in a service design role
• Extensive experience designing and facilitating stakeholder workshops and other engagement activities
• Diverse experience confidently solving a range of complex problems using creativity, design thinking, innovation
• Experience working in Government will be highly regarded
