Senior Service Designer

As a Senior Service Designer, the role focuses on a range of different areas related to product inventory and fulfilment including sales floor systems and processes, staff facing interfaces , such as in-store PDAs, workstations and third-party vendor Apps.

Key responsibilities

• Running discovery workshops to gather requirements, understand business processes and challenges with business stakeholders, external vendors, and development teams
• Undertake user research with the right mix of techniques such as user testing, contextual inquiry, data analytics, focus-groups, user surveys, and other opportunities such as remote research and testing
• Hypothesise, develop prototypes, test, and execute solutions for unique business and technical problems
• Produce and deliver final end-to-end service and UI/UX design output for staff facing applications
• Collaborating with development teams and wider experience team to deliver the design vision

Desired Skills and Experience

You will be self-motivated, have a deep understanding of balancing business drivers with user expectations, be able to adapt and deal with constantly changing priorities and tight timelines, and importantly enjoy contributing to the success of an Agile squad. Whilst experience is valuable, your attitude and aptitude are more important to us as an organisation.

• 4+ years experience in Service Design in an agile team, with strong UX/UI skills
• Some formal foundation training in SD or UX from a recognised course or institution, or equivalent experience – preferred but not a must
• Solid portfolio of Service Deign and UX/UI work
• Strong working knowledge of human-centred design principles
• Planning, designing, and facilitating remote, in-person moderated and guerrilla workshops, user testing and interviews
• Strong sketching and prototyping skills
• Strong mobile and responsive design experience
• Experience with design and collaboration tools e.g. Figma and Miro
• Experience in mentoring junior design team members
• Highly desirable: Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS)
