Service Designer

A GoSource Service Designer performs the role as described in the Australian Government Digital Service Standard (DSS). They identify how a service can better meet user needs.
They:
- design the end-to-end service, from legislation or policy to service delivery
- make decisions based on user research
- design a service that meets user and agency needs
- make sure the service meets web standards for all users, channels, and touchpoints
- create a blueprint or map of the proposed service
- make sure the main parts of the service are built in from the start
- help the team to develop and iterate the service or product
- make sure the service and product are consistent for users
As a GoSource Service Designer, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and may from time to time be required to contribute work that would typically be done by other digital roles, such as Interaction Designer, Content Designer, User Researcher or Delivery Manager. This will depend on your skills, interests, and the team’s requirements at the time.
Capability Leader (User Centred Design)
A GoSource Capability Leader is responsible for how certain types of work are done in GoSource. This includes contributing to the definitions of roles and ensuring relevant technology and techniques are applied consistent per industry best practice. As a member of the leadership team it has a key role in shaping a healthy and productive culture by a combination of exemplary and supportive personal behavior and contributions to recruitment and management of staff in User Centred Design roles.
