Service Designer (User research and Design) – Canberra – Citizens

Overview

The Service Designer will work with relevant business and technology areas to understand existing processes, work to streamline and standardise in a Whole of Government (WofG) context and ensure that the Permissions Capability delivers the outcomes of the current processes but in a more contemporary way. Primary outputs will be detailed process maps and key business and technology integration points.

The Service Designer will:

• Contribute to the analysis of potential WofG use cases to reuse the Permissions Capability through interpreting user research outputs and developing process maps and key business and technology integration points.

• Elicit and document a wide range information and develop high level business processes, program artefacts and presentations to senior stakeholders.

• Work with business analysts and user researchers to conduct discovery research to understand and map existing processes and user needs.

The candidate should provide a one-page pitch outlining their ability to meet the requirements of the role.

Essential criteria

Extensive experience in design of services for large organisations and/or government

Demonstrable experience working in a User Centred Design environment.

Demonstrated experience mapping complex service environments both as is and future state based on insights from user research.

Demonstrated experience of producing user scenarios, service experience concepts, blueprints and details service design as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable criteria

Demonstrated experience presenting persuasively to senior stakeholders.

Experience working with a range of federal government stakeholders, including experience in whole of government programs.
