Senior Service Designer

The Argonauts help companies, governments and organizations to remain meaningful in a rapidly changing world. We connect people from different disciplines, sectors and generations to find answers to the challenges of tomorrow, such as the major technological, social and climatic changes.

Collaboration and “co-creation” between companies, universities, governments and citizens is crucial for this. Our team consists of passionate product, service and spatial designers who immerse themselves in the needs and wishes of users in order to arrive at socially valuable solutions. In all our projects we put the end user at the center by means of methodologies such as design thinking, co-creation and participation.

In recent years, The Argonauts have built up extensive expertise and experience with innovation processes at various organizations in the private sector, government and civil society. We work closely with our partners within the Idea Group (Idea Consult, Mondea and Value Partners).

To further shape our strong growth, we are looking for an enterprising senior service designer!

• You are actively involved in business development and inspire existing and new clients to tackle their strategic challenges together. You know how to find the perfect balance between social added value, people and technology.
• Together with your colleagues, you facilitate co-creation processes with various stakeholders, both online and offline, to generate innovative solutions, develop them and convert them into prototypes, service blueprints and clear reports.
• You do design research (interviews, customer journeys, personas, service blueprints,…) and facilitate training, explorations of the future and design sprints.

Role

As an enterprising senior service designer:

• You inspire our customers around trends, methods, technologies, business models and good practices to get started with innovation.
• Write out your quotes and project proposals, for both public and private innovation projects.
• Through co-creation with end users and stakeholders, you optimally channel and shape the knowledge, energy and ideas.
• Oversee and guide you through the creative process of empathizing, defining problems, generating ideas, prototyping, testing and validating solutions.
• Build your business cases and guide you in setting up PoCs and pilot projects.
• You ensure that our customers can get started with design thinking and service design.
• Create a company-wide innovation and learning culture by connecting employees, departments and external stakeholders, e.g. by organizing design sprints and living labs.
• Build innovation ecosystems of customers, suppliers, partners, academia, research centers and start-ups.

Profile

• You have at least a master’s and/or advanced master’s degree in innovation, entrepreneurship, business management and/or design sciences.
• You have several years of experience as a service designer and/or innovation consultant.
• Entrepreneurship, creativity, strategic insight, leadership, empathy, cooperation and an eye for detail.
• You are strong in developing good contacts with companies, research centers, government, civil society…. in order to continuously expand your knowledge and network.
• You are familiar with online co-creation tools (Mural, Miro, …)
• You are familiar with graphic tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.
• You have a natural interest in social, economic & social themes.
• You are a smooth communicator. A good knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of French is a plus.
• You have a sharp pen and like to write offers, both in Dutch and English.
• You are a team player, but you can also work independently.
