Senior Biomedical Communications Designer

Our team is currently seeking a Senior Biomedical Communications Designer. In this role, you’ll work with a variety of stakeholders across many client-facing projects, applying your skills in translating complex medical concepts into clear illustrations, copy, and strategies to improve patient/prescriber/healthcare provider experiences.
Designing great experiences in healthcare is what we do here, and the role of a Senior Biomedical Communications Designer is crucial to our multi-disciplinary team. Working with our service designers, researchers, and strategists, you will help create visually compelling and scientifically accurate design deliverables for both digital and print. You will assist with planning and facilitating co-creation sessions and workshops, both virtual and in-person, including developing activities and prototyping. You will participate in design research and design strategy work.
As a Senior Biomedical Communications Designer, you will have an opportunity to work on a variety of innovative projects that have a real impact in a diverse range of communities.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and contributing to the vision and planning of all aspects of the team’s deliverables
- Assist in planning and scoping of project deliverables and discrete work streams
- Drive the use of human-centred design approaches, including but not limited to patient storyboards, journey maps, healthcare service blueprints, patient/prescriber/healthcare provider experience prototyping, and usability research, etc.
- Present astute points of view on design challenges and solutions with clients including impacts on a variety of stakeholders within healthcare systems, such as patients, nurses, prescribers, and allied healthcare professionals
- Collaborate on the production of communications materials such as illustrations, animation storyboards, infographics, and provide feedback to internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the outputs effectively translate details of strategic relevance
- Assist with the exploration of healthcare design trends and best practices and present and inform on the implications for Bridgeable or the client organization
- Assist with managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis through project work
- Articulate strategic insights from co-creation sessions, filtering to address the audience appropriately
- Participate in planning and facilitating co-creation, and collaborative work sessions (both virtual and in-person)
- Supporting new business development through research and outreach / spec pieces in areas of strategic interest to core clients
- Foster team development by coaching other Bridgeable team members and managing team contributions for project phases and deliverables
Requirements
Profile of the ideal candidate
You have:
- A master’s degree in biomedical communication, plus 2-4 years of professional experience, or;
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical or Scientific Visualization/Communications with 3-5 years experience in healthcare communications or marketing may also be considered
- Experience with the pressure of deadlines and ability to prioritize tasks
- The ability to tell a good story, translating complex knowledge into insightful pieces that resonate with end-users
Nice to have:
- Experience in marketing, consulting or agency context with a focus on healthcare strategy and/or digital production
- Experience in stakeholder engagement in medical communication, e.g., patient or professional ad board facilitation or coordination
