Senior Service Designer

We are seeking a Senior Service Design to join our team as a maternity leave cover. You’ll be joining an ultra-collaborative small firm and take on a lot of different types of exciting projects. You’ll primarily be working with project teams, but also have the opportunity to lead teams and work independently.

Our ideal candidate thrives in the intersection of design, research, product, and marketing. You have launched new digital products and transformed existing ones. You’re most likely to succeed in this role if you’re someone who grows anxious without new challenges and considers design a mindset that can be applied to any challenge. You likely have experience with the telecommunications,  financial services or higher education industries. And you have been applying mixed methods research (qualitative and quantitative) for several years to shift how organizations operate and deliver products/services.

Preference to candidates in the Vancouver area, however we are open to remote candidates anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Create strategies for research, design, prototyping, testing of services
• Lead customer and stakeholder interviews
• Lead persona and journey mapping activities
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data
• Create recommendations for marketing, design, product teams
• Manage client relationships, including presentations and workshops
• Deliver reports of findings and recommendations for different audiences
• Conduct scans and research of best-in-class services for specific challenges
• Support on pitch development and RFP writing

Requirements

• 5+ years of mixed methods research experience
• 5+ years experience with product design tools (Figma, InVision, Sketch)
• 2+ years of experience on teams delivering technology products or services
• 2+ years experience creating strategic documents
• 2+ years experience writing reports about business impact
• Must have demonstrable experience working on a fast-paced team
• Must have demonstrable experience rapid prototyping new solutions or products
• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
• Preference to those with experience across telecommunications,  financial services, and higher education industries
• Preference to those with product design experience
• Available for working hours from 9 am to 4 pm Pacific time zone, as needed
