Director Service Designer

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the face of Service Design for the organisation and proactively ensure key Service Design team outputs are embedded into Sales and the wider organization
- Leverage your experience and best practice to create the strategy and vision for the Service Design approach
- Translate strategy into clear objectives and actions and manage timely execution in close alignment with the business transformation leadership team
- Be accountable for establishing and evolving the Service Design practice in adidas as the way to be consumer-centric
- Set standards of how design is done at adidas and drive Service Design Excellence
- Drive thought leadership to evolve the practice inspiring the team and senior stakeholders inside global sales
- Spot Service Design opportunities in the organisation, make (first) connections across the organisation and secure buy-in
- Take ownership for Talent Management processes, in order to grow, develop and retain talents
- Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals
Key Relationships:
In this role you will be involved with and oversee the Service Design practice in all sales functions in adidas – from Global teams like Digital, Retail, Transformation, Digital Sales Solutions, Sales Tech and local market teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A natural leader, with great interpersonal skills and ability to lead and inspire teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced/ agile environment, business transformations, with high visibility and exposure to senior management
- Decisive, able to think strategically with the big picture on hand, and understand impact on the organization
- A demonstrated ability to collaborate with and lead a diverse range of resources and design and consumer research methodologies
- Foster a highly motivational and highly inclusive working environment
- Strong (design) leadership skills, with ability to hold managers accountable
- Sound methodological knowledge & experience in the areas of service design, CX, consumer research, experience design and human-centred design
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and storytelling skills in English
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree in Service Design or a design-related discipline (e.g.: Industrial design (engineering), User-centred design, Design strategy, Design management, etc.) or equivalent combination of education & experience
- 10+ years of professional experience in Service Design at an established agency, management consulting firm, in-house service design team and/or hands-on industry experience
- 3-5+ years leading medium/ large internal Service Design and or Consumer Centricity teams, embedding a culture of consumer-centricity as well as methodologies and tools
- Experience working in product-led/agile working environment
- Experience in leading and developing teams and external consultants
