As a young unit of OBI, we are establishing a modern innovation architecture that accelerates the validation of unique DIY ventures and makes it easier to explore new business opportunities from strategic search fields. Our main focus is on the topic of sustainability .

We keep an eye out for new business models, services and trends that also go far beyond the edge of the workbench. Our goal is to become the core DIY ecosystem, improving the lives of millions of people in their homes, gardens and beyond. Always under the motto “Everything is possible”.

Your tasks

• You are a creative source of inspiration for innovative product and service ideas within our entire DIY ecosystem, you know how to visually present them in strong & meaningful mock-ups and you accompany the process up to the validation of high-fidelity prototypes.
• You are responsible for the user-centric approach from discovery to evaluation. As a basis for the ideas, you explore the needs of the users, analyze the customer journey and continuously validate the assumptions behind the developed solution approaches with the help of user tests.
• As a thought leader, you screen relevant trends and technologies to uncover potential market opportunities and changes in customer behavior. You evaluate the commercial and strategic relevance for OBI and continuously feed the most relevant trends back into the team as creative impulses for innovative product and service ideas.
• You design and moderate co-creation & sprint formats that enable you and your colleagues to jointly develop innovative product and service ideas that result in concrete business opportunities.

your profile

• You have several years of experience with service / strategic design, product or UX design with proven successes that underpin your competence and working methods.
• You are a team player and, even in phases of high uncertainty, you manage to roll up your sleeves and find pragmatic solutions in the interests of the team and the project.
• You are experienced in the selection, implementation and analysis of UX research methods from discovery to evaluation.
• You live and master the mind and toolset of Design Thinking & Lean Startup and have practical experience with the creation of e.g. B. Empathy Maps, Customer Journeys, Service Blueprints, User Story Maps, Flowcharts, Wireframes and Clickdummies. In addition, you are not afraid to break with principles and approaches, to improvise and to break new ground according to the Learn & Adapt principle.
• You have mastered the common design programs and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and may also have experience with WordPress or similar.
