WaveMakers is a female-led Berlin-based startup that set out to change outdated leadership ideals. With our leadership and self-empowerment offerings, we empower awesome humans to become leaders in their own way, regardless of their current rank or title. Our early-stage startup was awarded the Berlin Startup Scholarship in April 2021, and we recently launched the first WaveMakers program (MVP mode) with participants from more than 20 different countries. Now it’s time to take our services to the next level and shape our digital program and participant experience by defining user expectations for a flawless before-, during-, after experience across all digital channels. Does that sound like the right challenge for you?

We look for a hands-on WaveMaker who wants to join our team for a 4-month fellowship (with a possible extension) and apply their Service Design Toolbox in a purpose-driven environment, together with an inspiring team. Join us if you want to help us build WaveMakers from the ground up and become a critical part of our mission of empowering a generation of diverse, authentic leaders.

Your profile

• A hands-on doer who takes initiative and makes things happen
• An empathic and open-minded team player, not afraid to stand up for their own opinions, but also humble and listening to others
• Experienced in planning, conducting, and documenting user research
• Experienced in identifying insights about customer needs, behaviors, pain-points and mapping customer journeys
• Experienced in designing and facilitating co-creative workshops and sprints
• Experienced in building and testing prototypes with end-users
• Enjoys getting their hands dirty, visualization and prototyping
• Systematic in terms of synthesizing data and creative problem-solving
• Favorable towards our mission, passionate about leadership, empowerment, diversity
• You will join our small team of 5 and collaborate with colleagues from Product and Marketing to design an awesome service end-to-end
• Nice to haves: Strong UX, UI & visual design skills, experience in digital or front end design, eye for details, strong visual design aesthetic

Terms and requirements (non-negotiable)

• You will be part of the Berlin Startup Scholarship for a period of 4 months (August to Nov 2021) and receive 2000 Euros per month
• You need to be registered in Berlin, Germany
• You need to have a completed university degree (Bachelor degree or higher), but no current university enrollment
• You need to work full-time on WaveMakers
• You are immediately available
