Senior Service Designer

About the role:

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term or secondment opportunity for up to twelve months, and will enjoy contributing to the success of a team and who will work across the branch and MIQ as required. The successful candidate will display a high level of agility and adaptability to the changing needs of the team and the branch.

You will be responsible for bringing extensive experience of service design thinking and advice to MIQ to ensure that priorities are met. We are interested in ensuring that the complete end-to-end service is considered holistically, but we may need to take less traditional paths to achieve this due to the rapid and evolving environment we find ourselves in.

This is a key role in ensuring the success of critical programmes of work; the Elimination Strategy, Quarantine Free Travel Zones and the MIQ-wide Service Improvement Programme. Working with the MIQ Policy teams as well as other cross-government partners you will be the conduit for translating strategic Policy into deliverable business requirements. Additionally, you will support the delivery teams to execute these business requirements in accordance with intended outcomes.

Skills and experience required:

• A proven track record of experience and success in providing Service Design projects
• An innovative and experimental approach to service design tools and techniques
• A solutions focussed mind-set and someone who enjoys unique challenges and varied opportunities
• Demonstrated agility in responding to changes in priorities
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Initiative and a proactive approach to work supporting by strong judgment and decision making ability
• Great relationship management skills with confidence in dealing with a wide range of people
