Service Designer

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for a superstar service designer who loves the challenge of working through ambiguity, who has large programme experience and enjoys working closely with other service designers as well as business analysts to work through breadth and depth of service, process and data detail and can apply critical thinking to identify what, and how, service, process and data will be managed through and post-transition from current to future state. It’s an exciting, fast-paced, Agile programme. The people we’re looking for will:

• have solid service design experience
• thrive with creative problem solving
• understand how to apply analysis to breakdown the work in a manner that supports the product delivery strategy
• have a good understanding of ‘enough’ so can dive into details when necessary while keeping the focus on the intended outcome and the big picture
• be comfortable owning specific analysis work packets
• be clear and appropriate communicators to promote shared understanding and drive knowledge transfer toward development teams

Two critical requirements for candidates coming into this programme;

1. The ability to listen first. This is a complex domain and there is a vast amount of information to understand. It will take time to understand the domain – in particular the future state we are building into. We have a programme team of more than 100 people and are more than a year in. An enormous amount of work has already happened so this is not a ‘start fresh’ opportunity and there isn’t an appetite for repeating previous work.
2. The ability to team effectively. Velocity is critical – both building and maintaining and we know velocity is quickly undermined when people aren’t able to work well together so we’re looking for people who know how to effectively team up and can work through the ‘storming, forming, norming’ of team entry with minimal disruption to others
