Service Designer
Cogo
At Cogo, we’re on a mission to help millions of people and businesses worldwide to understand and reduce their carbon footprint. We’ve partnered with some of the biggest banks in the world and created a free consumer app and real-time API that can empower people to use their money to shape a future they truly value.
Cogo is growing big time! We’re expanding in both new and existing markets and we’ve got some exciting opportunities across our business for talented individuals who want to change the world with us.
Our NZ based team needs a Service Designer who will work on the experience of services offered by Cogo, enabling users and businesses world-wide to measure, improve, and compensate for their impact on people and planet. This role requires you to apply design thinking to consider the internal and external needs of our clients, developing a view of the different touch points and channels and how everything connects. Success in this role will be by using your understanding of design to improve the service behind the scenes between Cogo and the client, as well as the experience of the clients’ end users. You’ll also be contributing to our design culture at Cogo by growing and championing the design system to strengthen the brand.

Main responsibilities:
- Cogo staff understand the pain points experienced by our clients and the end users of our products because you’ve done such an excellent job of conducting research (with Cogo’s UX Researchers and Behavioural Science Researchers) and then creating design assets such as user journey maps of different touch points and channels to communicate your findings across the organisation.
- As well as considering the traditional end-user experience, our client users (such as solution architects, developers, UX designers, and technical Product Managers) are taken into account when designing our systems.
- The design of Cogo’s service offering is developed using creative problem solving and user-centred design methods that you have led and advocated for.
- Design assets (such as service blueprints and architecture diagrams) and client user documentation that you’ve created are used widely across the organisation to share technical concepts, guide clients usability, and share information within Cogo.
- When we need to communicate how Cogo’s products could look when integrated with client’s systems you’ve led the production of wireframes, high fidelity mockups, and/or prototypes.
- All levels of the organisation follow best practice design using a shared design system, agreed upon minimum acceptable accessibility principles (working towards meeting AA standards), and up to date UX patterns and guidelines (including platform specific; web standards and for mobile Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design).
