Evidence-based Policing (EBP) is about using information, crime science and problem-solving methods to ensure that proven approaches and tactics inform our choices, are seen in the results, and provide confidence that what we do works.

EBP presents an opportunity for New Zealand Police to embed an evidence base into all of our operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to the formation of the EBP Centre.

This Service Designer position will be in the Service Design Team within EBP. The Service Design Team ensures that the voice of the user is embedded in the way services are designed, developed and delivered. Working across EBP teams with strong links to the frontline.

The work is varied and always interesting. You will make a real difference for New Zealanders and help make it the safest country.

The ideal candidate will have experience of people-cantered design principles, and methods, will have great interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate empathy and have the ability to make their ideas visible!

Some experience with Adobe Creative Cloud desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence communicating, building rapport and developing productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority

Special Requirement

  • Must be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or New Zealand permanent resident
