Service Designer

About the role

We are looking for you who are passionate about the power of design and who are able to inspire developers and health experts to work in completely new ways. You have experience with service design processes, navigating complex issues and ensuring common direction. You are a standard bearer for putting the user at the center, while at the same time you are able to balance user needs, technological possibilities and the business aspect.

As a service designer, you are concerned with the overall user experience across contact points – and have the ability to zoom in on the small details and out on the big picture to see connections. The challenges in health are complex and have many dependencies across roles, work processes and systems. Mapping and visualization are therefore central tools for creating common understanding around opportunities and pain points.

In order to bring about the change society needs, you will work at the intersection between design and change management. In light of this, you enjoy facilitating co-creative processes with the healthcare system – through listening, mediating and involving.

Work assignments

  • Lead service- and system-oriented design processes in interdisciplinary teams
  • Mapping connections and ensuring a good understanding of the overall user experience
  • Uncover user needs through continuous insight work and dissemination of insight
  • Facilitate workshops and concept development
  • Plan, carry out and follow up user testing
  • Contribute to skills development in the organisation
  • Challenge the limits of how design can contribute to better solutions for patients and healthcare workers

Desired background, qualifications and characteristics

  • Relevant education or experience. You can have shorter or longer experience – we look for all levels of experience
  • A committed team player who likes to share and collaborate across teams and subjects
  • Good visualization and communication skills to create a common understanding of complex issues
  • A good facilitator who can lead design processes and create commitment
  • Good knowledge of various design methods
  • Interest in software and professional applications
  • Master both Norwegian and English, and have good written and oral communication skills
