Service & UX Designer
Oda
We are now looking for experienced Service UX designers for several of our teams:
Logistics, Procurement and Delivery – We seek service designers to join the teams responsible for the logistics platform we use to run our value chain. Complex workflows, the opportunity to work in tight feedback loops with end users (our operations colleagues), see a lot of things go live, and work with software in combination with physical machinery, physical space, and operator routines make logistics very satisfying for service designers.
Customer Experience – Join the UX design group working on our web, iOS, Android, and Design systems. Here there are established teams with primarily digital designers, so we would love to have a service designer to help us keep a holistic end-to-end focus across our platforms.
Discover and Inspire — Be part of the teams cracking the code on making shopping both efficient and inspiring, plus helping answer the hardest question of them of all, “what’s for dinner?” This is an area with designers working across the Search, Recommendations, and Recipes teams.
As titles in Oda indicate what you do, not rank or status, we don’t use “senior” or “lead” to describe design positions. That said, these are roles for experienced designers with an expectation that you will lead projects, can think strategically, contribute to the development of the UX Design team, and the strengthening of user empathy in the organization at large.
What you’ll do as a Service designer with us
Service Designers in Oda work embedded in one of our cross-functional product teams, working shoulder to shoulder with developers, product managers, data scientists & analysts, and business specialists. These teams are built around specific problem spaces or phases of the customer journey, and are rigged to set their own goals, work independently, and ship solutions directly.
As an experienced designer, you’ll take the lead design role on projects within your team, seeing things through from initial discovery work through implementation and launch. We don’t have a specific Oda design process (we trust people know what they’re doing), but you can expect your days to be spent doing stuff like this:
· UX Research, discovery, and analysis
· Mapping and systems modeling
· Workshop facilitation
· Project planning and prioritization
· Interaction design
· Service implementation and followup
