Service Designer

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to the Head of Service Design, this a pivotal new role for Action for Children. You will be key to driving and delivering the strategic potential of the organisation to develop innovative new children and family centred services by bringing together teams from across the organisation to solve complex problems.

You’ll do this by:

• Bringing together multi-disciplinary team across Action for Children to explore complex problems using a service design process to discover, ideate, prototype and build products or services.
• Mapping user journeys and translating user research into actionable insights, ideas and services.
• Seeking out opportunities for change and improvement within our existing services.
• Defining product and services strategy, planning and managing roadmaps, overseeing budgets, and iterating relevant services or products.
• Creating and capitalising on opportunities to bring in funding for the Growth and Service Design team both commercially and through partnerships.
• Helping to grow and contributing to Action for Children’s user-centred design community and learning across the organisation.

What we need from you:

• Experience of working in external partnerships to build a collaborative design team.
• Highly effective communications skills across all media.
• The ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with leaders and managers at all levels.
• Project and programme management experience.
• Experience researching, designing and building digital products or blended services.
