Service Designer

The role:

We’re looking for a highly autonomous and experienced mid-weight Service Designer to join our team, specifically for our Government and Public Sector projects. You will be responsible for leading design from discovery to deployment and be a thought leader in user research and product strategy. We need someone with government experience who can navigate complex projects and operate with limited direct support.
What you’ll be doing:

• Conducting user research during the discovery phase of projects.
• Creating user journey blueprints to explore and describe the service or operational environment.
• Building and testing prototypes, which can be digital or non-digital (e.g., policy ideas or processes).
• Working closely with clients and colleagues in multi-functional teams.
• Guiding and training others in the organisation on service design methods and practices.
• Championing user centred-design on projects and with the broader faculty team.

What we’re looking for:

• You have proven experience working as a Service Designer in a Government context or on public service design challenges.
• You can work autonomously and hold your own in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• You possess a strong mix of strategic and analytical skills.
• You have experience working deeply with technology within multifunctional teams that have deployed products or services with experience of or a passion for AI being an added advantage.
• You are willing to mentor and teach others service designer best practice to enhance our wider capability in this space
