Senior Service Designer

About The Role

We’re hiring for this role to specifically cover two of Shift’s projects.

• • The first project is focussed on prototyping possible future employment services. You will work with two team members – Louise who will lead the project and partner relationship overall and Amelia who will support with engagement, facilitation and user research. Your role will be develop and test service concepts in cycles of experimentation and learning.
  • The second project is focussed on being a co-designer to two ‘infrastructure’ charities who provide support to a network of member organisations. You will be paired with a second co-designer for each of the two charities you’re supporting and together you will both help them deliver on two pre-defined project briefs – both focussed on improving their service offers and member experiences. Louise is leading the programme design and delivery and Duncan is leading the programme learning/evaluation, so you’ll have regular conversation with them and ad-hoc support or advice as you need it.

Requirements

Must haves

• • You have 5+ years experience working as a Service Designer or similar (we don’t mind what your job title has been)
  • You have successfully delivered projects where service/experience prototyping and running experiments has been at the core
  • You have successfully coached people in another organisation through design thinking/service design approaches and methods
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.

Bonus points for

• • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing role
  • Experience designing and delivering design thinking/service design training
