Service Designer

Your Mission

We need you to help us understand the problems people have with their finances, and help the product team build world class services that can use data to enable our clients to build in-app features that help people get on top of their finances. This ground-breaking work will allow our clients to help change their customers behaviour and improve their financial wellbeing.

What impact you will make

• • You will lead the service design in a product team looking to build data services that help our clients create better financial experiences
  • You will use your analytical skills to work with the PM and user research to create artifacts to help keep the team in the problem space
  • Work with the team to help them understand the outcomes we want to achieve with the APIs we are building and the impact on the wider business strategy
  • Closely work with the PM and API developers on API design goals and best practices that can improve the application developer’s experience
  • Set up feedback loops to iterate and suggest improvements to the API designs
  • Help the team understand the wider consequences of clients getting more data and insights on their customers
  • Create low fidelity prototypes of possible solutions that clients could build with our APIs to test with end users
  • Bring behavioural theory into the process to help define what data points would have the most impact to help users manage their financial wellbeing

A Bit About You

• You are good at and enjoy the challenge of problem framing – You can visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information and research evidence.
• You are inspired by new technologies and how they can positively impact people’s financial lives
• You know how to move from analysis to synthesis and/or design intent. Such skills include demonstration of the ability to apply logical thinking, gathering and analysing information and evidencing key performance indicators
• You see developers, data scientists and product managers as design partners
• You can facilitate effective workshops and design activities to guide decision making
• You can show us a portfolio with detailed examples of when you’ve worked on complex projects from an early stage, which were loosely defined, but you helped to carve out clarity and rally a team around their vision for what to do
• You are always striving to learn more about your users, and are equally passionate to involve the rest of your team in conducting user research – you see research as a team sport
• You have worked in or been involved in teams that have practiced Agile / Lean / Kanban / Scrum.
