The role

We are looking to hire a Service Designer at a Principal Consultant level.  Initially to take on the lead service designer role on engagements, working usually in small agile teams, interfacing directly with client stakeholders, alongside consultants from other disciplines such as change management, artificial intelligence and automation.  The role will initially be for the UK, but we are interested to hear from candidates who are based in Germany, with German language fluency.

Experience Required

Deep experience in human-centred design, showing progression and development in terms of experience within the discipline.

Applicants must provide submit a portfolio or access to an online portfolio as part of their application.

Enterprise experience –  experience working with household brands, especially multinationals to design services around customers and employees.  At this stage we are especially interested in energy and utilities, but financial services, telecoms, and life sciences are also interesting.

Practical experience in applying a structured and systematic approach to enterprise-level problems.   Ideally this should include Design Thinking and Lean UX.

Strong stakeholder influencing skills – whether in presentations, stakeholder reviews, workshops, or other types of interaction.

Curious, open-minded, with a flexible mindset.

Ability to produce high quality artefacts – everything from story maps to service blueprints, to research and discovery output.
(Some wireframing and concept sketching may be required from time-to-time, but this is not a pure UX role.)

Familiarity with various qualitative research techniques and ability to conduct ethnographic studies, user interviews, desk research, prototype testing.

Ability to drive and shape outcomes in sometimes fluid client-facing delivery environments with ill-defined requirements and ambiguous priorities.

Experience with identifying sell-on opportunities, helping with planning, costing writing proposals.

Able to make a contribution and participate in the development of our Experience Design community of practice.
