Principal Service Designer

Hippo’s principal consultants in service design are experts in their field, supporting teams and clients at a strategic level. You will have extensive experience coaching and mentoring people through service design approaches and tools. What you’ll do

• Act as engagement lead or site delivery lead for projects and support new business activity
• Provide expert advice on the role of maps and blueprinting
• Lead collaboration with clients and colleagues within Hippo
• Ensure services are inclusive, usable, technically feasible and commercially viable
• Have accountability for organisational objectives, actions and be able to assign responsibilities
• Ensure knowledge transfer will be effective to enable service delivery and that suitable techniques or methods are being used
• Define service taxonomies
• Recruit, coach and support the professional development of a range of disciplines
• Define the recruitment processes for service designers, advise on suitability of candidates and lead interviews

You will be an expert at designing services from end to end and improving existing services that are underperforming. With broad industry experience, you will have advanced knowledge of a broad range of design disciplines and will be able to promote their combined offer as multidisciplinary service design teams. You will understand the main industries currently generating demands for service design and how that fits with developing Hippo’s business strategy.

You will also have:

• Experience of defining the vision and development of your discipline
• Extensive experience of managing stakeholder relationships to overcome challenges to enable service delivery
• Extensive experience presenting your work to clients
• The confidence to manage relationships effectively, building long-term, strategic partnerships that involve regular and clear communication
•  Advanced experience with Agile and the GDS Digital Standard
