Service Designer

Your task is to create services that get to the heart of residents’ needs. Part of a dedicated Service Design team, you’ll use detailed research and analysis to design the most effective solutions.

This is a great opportunity to imagine what future council services could look like and shape user journeys. Joining a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll build a comprehensive picture of residents’ needs and make design decisions with empathy and insight. Meanwhile, you’ll be looking for ways to reduce costs, optimise existing systems and bring improvements to services. If innovation could make a positive impact, you won’t hesitate to embrace it.

A talented service designer, you look to the future while designing for now. You bring proven experience in a similar role and a firm grasp of service design and user research. Please note that this role will help the organisation to design council services based around the needs of our communities, taking advantage of technology as appropriate. This is not a graphic design or industrial design role. We’re looking for people with experience of working in a similar role, ideally in a local government or public sector environment.

Although we are currently working remotely, it is important that you will be able to travel to Hounslow when required after restrictions are lifted.
