About This Role

This is a key role in transforming BT’s ways of working at scale that will utilise design thinking, agile and lean start up frameworks to enable multi-discipline teams to deliver market leading digital products and services. Core to this role, is your ability to embed a human-centred culture and models for rapid innovation, product development, continuous experimentation, measurement and improvement.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

• Continued evolution of the Service Design framework, tools and techniques, as well as the operating models and ways of working for cross-functional Design Squads.
• Coaching Design Squads and ensuring that all services are designed in accordance with agreed Service Design principles, methodologies and processes.
• Supporting cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes that are both human-centred and commercially viable.
• Scaling Design Thinking across Technology and Customer Facing Units via bootcamps, workshops and consulting engagements.
• Supporting the IT Transformation communication and engagement plan (speaking at events – internally and externally).
• Leadership and direction of our agency/partner Service Designers.

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

• Proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving and time management.
• Subject matter expert / thought leader in Service Design and Design Thinking.
• Interpersonal skills needed to lead multi-discipline and cross-functional teams and ability to manage conflicting needs and priorities with empathy and tact.
• A Connected Leader who role models through their own behaviour and actions, embedding change by inspiring, coaching, holding themselves and others to account, setting the right cultural tone for IT, Technology and Customer Facing Units.
• Highly effective and diverse stakeholder management: demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships across challenging internal and external teams, senior stakeholders, consultants, architects, analysts, and Finance and HR personnel.
• Strong communicator and collaborator: ability to, articulate complex solutions clearly, and enable the best work from cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience in leading and supporting complex organisations through change/transformation programmes.
