As a Service Designer, you’ll be a hands-on design do-er and a strategic thought-partner with the goal to create differentiated client experiences and translate them into scalable solutions.  You will collaborate with a team of business, clinical, and other stakeholders to help grow people-first services from value proposition to putting all the pieces together to maintain a client-centered fully integrated offering. Our service designers translate research, use expertise on interaction design and approach their work from a place of empathy to create and improve experiences along the member journey.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and operationalize service design strategy to positively impact Lifesprk’s enterprise growth strategy.
  • Build and maintain key design artifacts to define and communicate experience architecture and/or overall service system that illustrate all the components and touch-points of the service including: visual frameworks, journey maps, service blueprints, operations or user flows.
  • Champion service design while using agile/lean human-centered methodologies
  • Ensure a flawless, consistent and user-friendly experience across all touchpoints
  • Design for both the user’s experience (desirability) Lifesprk’s ability to implement and scale (feasibility) and business constraints (viability).
  • Prototype, test and refine key service experience components with participation of end users -iteratively moving from low to high fidelity solutions that elegantly solve for complex behavioral, cultural, and social dimensions.
  • Synthesize and apply research takeaways and insights to drive design decisions and service system development.
  • Establish relationships and liaise with key business partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements, documentation and presentations as needed.
  • Contribute to project reviews and standard methodology development.
  • Support the planning and monitoring of project activities, timelines and achievements.
  • Help internal clients and other stakeholders understand design solutions both verbally and visually.
  • Based on primary and secondary design research, including user needs assessments, contribute insights and ideas for designing how members will interact with us.
  • Leverage storytelling to clearly articulate design ideas and decisions and participate in feedback discussions.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • At least 5 years of experience in the service design industry
  • Demonstrated experience in design thinking, ethnographic research methods, and journey mapping.
  • Broad understanding of healthcare (provider/payer/technology).
  • Deep expertise in design thinking/human-centered design.
  • Ability to work within a self-directed culture and navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience of leading design work on a team with varied strengths.
  • Experience with concepting, ideation, and iterative prototyping.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in design discipline
  • Service design experience within a healthcare setting
  • Experience designing for a senior population
