Job Summary:

The UX Designer III role will create and facilitate design workshop and discovery activities for large and complex projects. The position is responsible for successfully implementing best UX practices and principles across all our digital platforms that serve SSTech clients.

You will collaborate with other UX teams to create new designs and create revisions to existing (both internal and external) digital products. You will work as a core member of multi-disciplinary teams (research, UXD, graphic design, development) to bring innovative ideas and concepts to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Build storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project plans to clients and UX team members.
  • Run design thinking workshops and coordinate research activities to gather user insights and input for outputs such as journey maps, blueprints, etc.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems based on qualitative data and feedback from design reviews.
  • Collaborate with researchers and developers in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Familiarity with user research tools and preferably experienced in conducting UX research.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure high quality outcomes for the client needs.
  • Contributes to the product discovery process and assist in validating core product ideas.
  • Collaborate with PMs, BAs, and other team members to keep project on track.
  • Keep up to date on the latest and emerging technologies as it relates to the position
  • Use strong problem-solving skills with the drive to find solutions prior to escalation
  • Create blogs and whitepapers together with other team members.
  • Tackle complex design and user problems
  • Create and foster client relationships on projects.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience working as a UX Designer with at least 2+ years of experience in design thinking workshops
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leading mid to large-size projects or design efforts.
  • Experience building client relationships.
  • Provide mentorship and design guidance to junior team members.
  • Working knowledge of using design systems.
  • Understanding of importance of details and love human-computer interaction and user insights.
  • Mastery in design thinking and good user empathy, and be able to participate in user research, interactive design, and prototyping.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on success
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • A positive and friendly attitude

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able share examples of past design thinking workshop history.
  • A track record of shipping phenomenal experiences, weathering release cycles, and knowing what details matter at each stage
  • Interest in qualitative and quantitative data by caring deeply about grounding decisions in real data, marketplace needs & norms.
  • Ability to call research participants and coordinators for spontaneous research, you translate insights from user studies into meaningful action.
  • Expertise at developing and conveying ideas clearly in written and visual format – making business concepts and data visually engaging
  • Emotional intelligence. You authentically care about your teammates and nurture positive relationships even through difficult projects.
