Privacy Policy

The Short Version
Browsing works without an account and without advertising cookies. Data that identifies you enters the picture only when you hand it over: subscribing to the newsletter, creating an account, contacting us, or paying for a job posting. The rest of this page lists each case, what we store, and how to get it deleted. Questions go to hello@servicedesignjobs.com.
Analytics
We use Plausible for web analytics. It counts page views and button clicks in aggregate, without cookies and without following you to other websites. It feeds no advertising network and builds no profile of you. The numbers answer questions about how the site is used, such as which filters matter most to service design professionals.
Newsletter and Job Alerts
The Sunday Briefing and the job alerts run on our own mailing system at m.servicedesignjobs.com. When you subscribe, we store your email address and, if you provide them, your first and last name. Before anything is sent, you confirm the subscription through a link in an email from us. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click removes you from the list.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. If you create one, we store your email address, your full name, and your password in hashed form. Nobody at Service Design Jobs can read your password.
A professional profile can be attached to the account: country, seniority, industry, years of experience, salary band, and work preferences. It powers your job alert criteria and any personalized parts of the board. Company manager accounts are linked to the company they manage, so the dashboard can show that company's listings.
Write to hello@servicedesignjobs.com to have your account and its data deleted.
We keep an internal record of which listings were emailed to which address so we never send the same listing twice. That record stays after deletion; it is never public.
Saved Jobs
Jobs you save are kept in your browser. If you are signed in, they also sync to your account, so your list shows up on every device you use.
Job Reviews
Leaving a review requires an account. Reviews are tied to your account so the site can limit you to one review per listing; they are only ever shown as community averages, never attributed to you. If your account is deleted, its reviews are deleted.
Contact Form
The contact form sends your name, your email address, and your message to our inbox so we can reply. A hidden field helps catch automated spam. That is the full extent of it.
Payments for Job Postings
Employers pay for listings through a separate checkout system. Payment details are entered there and never reach our servers. The order record (billing name, billing email, and the listing the order covers) is stored with that checkout system and its payment provider.
Cookies and Local Storage
This site runs no advertising cookies and no ad networks. What does exist: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, local storage entries for your saved jobs, and the cookieless analytics described above. Clearing your browser data removes every local entry.
Your Rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, and you can have it corrected, exported, or deleted. Email hello@servicedesignjobs.com and we will act on the request.
If you are in the EU or the UK, these points match your rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws: access, rectification, erasure, and portability of your data, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time. The newsletter double opt-in works on exactly that basis.
Changes to This Policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The current version always lives at www.servicedesignjobs.com/privacy.
