Job description

As a Service Designer you will:

  • Play a critical role in the design of cross Public Sector services that protect organisations from cyber security vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Use research and analytics to understand users needs, design and prototype solutions that meet these needs, identify service failures and test different designs
  • Design services that deliver value through a blend of digital and human channels
  • Design collaboratively and in the open, engaging your whole team with the design process and adapting it if necessary
  • Champion accessibility and inclusion, consider the impact of new technologies and ensure that designs meet legal requirements
  • Collaborate with designers in other teams and departments, reviewing each other’s work and developing shared patterns
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary, agile environment, adapting quickly to changes in requirements, priorities or user needs
  • Utilise your skills and expertise on other projects or other aspects of this project during your engagement should our organisation’s priorities change

  • experience of successfully designing services that are deployed across a large number of organisations or business units
  • experience in agile working practices, adapting to iterative feedback and prioritising tasks based on user and business needs

  • experience in designing and testing services delivered by teams of specialists working with client organisations
  • experience successfully supporting several services or projects simultaneously
  • an understanding of cyber security risk and government cyber security best practices
  • experience of working according to the Service Manual
  • experience of working in government, public sector or charity sector organisations
  • excellent planning and organisational skills
