About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in London as a Service Designer.

We are ready to make a step change in our services. We want to support more musicians than ever before, delivering greater impact than ever before- both for individual musicians and for the music industry. To achieve this, we need to transform the way we design and deliver services and this role will support this work. As a manager, you’ll act as an internal design consultant and practitioner, undertaking service design work while enabling and embedding a change in approach, supporting the organisation to adopt design thinking and practices at the heart of service design and delivery.

Reporting to the Director of Musicians’ Service the role will work with colleagues at all levels, to develop and embed innovative new services and transform the delivery of existing services.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will bring hands-on experience as a service designer in a relevant environment. You will need a thorough understanding of the end-to-end service design process and experience in producing a range of service design artefacts such as service blueprints, user journeys and personas. You’ll need to be confident designing and undertaking user research and testing and in understanding how to balance user preferences and needs with business priorities.

As well as facilitating the design of new services, you’ll be undertaking service audits to improve the efficiency and user experience and outcomes of existing services, so a strong understanding of what good looks like in human services is essential. You’ll need to collaborative and able to facilitate the effective and meaningful involvement of users and colleagues in service design.
