Lead Service Designer

As a lead service designer, you’ll lead teams to deliver multiple complex services. You’ll work with service managers and programme directors to develop design concepts. You’ll influence and mentor others. You’ll set direction, ensure quality and always advocate for the user.

What you’ll do:

• • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of end-to-end design strategy.
  • Design the simplest possible systems for use across multiple services.
  • Identify and develop inclusive and accessible solutions for all users.
  • Mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Build consensus between diverse and competing stakeholders.
  • Apply risk methodologies at the most complex levels of risk and guide others.
  • Act as a recognised expert and advocate for agile, user-centred approaches.
  • Coach and lead teams in agile and lean practices, taking the right approach for the team or the project.
  • Coach at an organisation level on team dynamics and conflict resolution.
  • Speak on behalf of and represent the community to large audiences.

• • A strong understanding of GDS and designing to government service standards, preferably on projects that passed assessment.
