The role
Would you like to work in a new multi-disciplinary Digital team that has been created to deliver on the outcomes set out in our ambitious Customer Experience and Digital strategies?

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, then Lambeth’s Digital & Design Services are on the lookout for an impact-driven, Service Designer with experience and knowledge of agile delivery practices and a desire to work alongside content designers, developer and digital officer, to deliver best in class experiences across all our digital channels.

This is a new role in Lambeth, focused on digital delivery through a human centred approach to problem solving.  It is a chance to work on services that matter, with people who value good service design, focusing on end-to-end designs for our whole service journey.  Its purpose is to work alongside services, transforming them to better meet user needs with the help of modern practices, technology, data and insight.

It is important for our new Service Designer to have knowledge of delivering excellent user experiences, transformational results, and be able to influence colleagues across services to make effective use of data and service design.

Key responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Identifying how the Council can improve outcomes through re-design of user experience, business processes, and better collaboration across the digital ecosystem.
  • To articulate clearly how services can be improved from a user centred, system, and data/insight perspective.
  •  Ensure that all internet, intranet, digital customer portal and eForm designs meet the council’s digital standards and guidelines, implementing quality control systems and processes where required.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience in designing services that are outcome-focused, simple to use, fast, accessible and joined-up. You will need strong knowledge and understanding of GDS standards & current digital platforms, including internet, intranet, customer portals, electronic forms, social media and webchat.
