Service Design Manager

Southern Housing is seeking a permanent Service Design Manager to lead the redesign of services, driving transformation and efficiency. You’ll manage a team, work in Agile cross-functional projects, and ensure resident voices are central to service improvements.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead service design and transformation projects
• Manage and develop a team of Service Designers and Analysts
• Champion user-centred design and innovative solutions (including AI)
• Collaborate with residents, colleagues, and partners
• Ensure compliance with accessibility and design standards
• Support strategic planning and contribute to organisational change initiatives
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning

What You’ll Need:

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Experience in Service Design, Interaction Design, or Graphic Design (Experience in housing, public sector, or social impact organisations is desirable)

• Knowledge of user-centred design, accessibility, and relevant standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working in Agile environments and using design tools (e.g. Miro, Figma, Adobe XD)
• Relevant qualifications (A-level minimum; further certifications desirable)

• Familiarity with service blueprinting, journey mapping, and prototyping
