Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You’ll be joining the Kaluza Platform Design Team. We are made up of squad embedded Product Designers and cross-functional practices in Brand, Content Design, Design Ops, Research and Service Design.

We are dedicated to forming partnerships with Product and Engineering to solve complex problems. For us that means everything we do, we apply platform thinking — going beyond user centred design — looking at the big picture of ecosystems, designing for interconnectedness and simplifying services.

What will I be doing?

We’re looking for a Senior Designer, who will report to a Design Lead.

You’ll work in a squad helping our energy retailer customers to have the best possible experience of using our platform. Our SaaS technology platform is the foundation for enabling global energy businesses around the world to accelerate decarbonisation.

You’ll work with Product Managers, Engineers and other Designers, and be supported by Practice Leads from Research, Content Design, DesignOps, Branding and Service Design.

  • Design service maps, documentation, user flows and prototypes. Consider multiple journeys, not just the happy path.
  • Use different research techniques to organise tests and understand user needs. And get stakeholders involved in the research process.
  • Working in line with our design system, accessibility standards and patterns. Contribute to our standards and frameworks.
  • Use various tools for sketching, collaborating, prototyping and communicating design. We love Miro and Figma!
  • Take an agile and lean approach to software development. We use tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering colleagues. Facilitate workshops and design sprints.
  • Develop a strong technical knowledge of our products and services
  • Measure the impact of your team’s work against business objectives and user needs
  • Mentor or manage mid- and junior designers

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you will have/be

  • Proven experience mentoring or supporting other designers
  • Skilled in building strong relationships across multiple teams
  • Experience in agile, lean, evidence-based and human-centred design
  • Able to simplify complex ideas and communicate them clearly
  • High attention to detail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment

If you have most of the qualities above, but not all of them, please apply anyway. We think passion and attitude are sometimes as valuable as experience.
