We are seeking a Service Designer in our busy and dynamic Innovation Unit to assist with driving forward our Innovation Strategy, and the design and delivery of people-centred public services.

We are looking for a creative problem solver with a passion for improving services and delivering positive social impact. You will have a strong background and experience in inclusive service design and the ability to support council teams to understand services from the perspective of users, prototype areas for improvement and deliver change.

By getting to the heart of understanding people’s needs, you will help to inform design decisions with insight and empathy. You’ll help the wider team and organisation develop a deep understanding of the people that use our services and the people who deliver them.

You will proactively identify opportunities for improving services and reducing costs, imagine what future services could look like, and identify where innovative technology has the potential to transform services.

You will be an excellent visual and verbal communicator, who will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to agree, implement and maintain a set of user-centred design concepts and principles, and help to build service design skills, knowledge and capacity across the organisation.
