The National Cyber ​​Security Center (NCSC) has a mission: to make Dutch society resilient to digital threats. Due to the rapidly growing and changing cyber security domain, the NCSC is developing at a rapid pace. Do you want to commit to the digital security of the Netherlands and work in a dynamic, innovative environment with the latest technology and interesting datasets? Then you might be the desired reinforcement for the Data & Analytics team of the NCSC.

The NCSC is a strongly data-driven organization: we collect, analyze, research, enrich and distribute data and information. Information and data processing therefore form the core of our activities. The value and quality of our products and services are directly related to the accessibility and quality of data. The way we process and convert data determines the quality of the action perspective that we can offer our target group organizations and partners.

The Data & Analytics (D&A) team within the NCSC plays a crucial role in this. The team is responsible for developing new digital data products, such as NCSC’s data platform, ML/AI models and channels for quickly and securely sharing cyber information with customers and partners.

What are you going to do?
As a designer, you will work with fellow data scientists and engineers to develop and improve data-driven products that focus on the user. The Data & Analytics (D&A) team within the IV&T unit of the NCSC is a fast-growing team responsible for the realization of new data-driven products and services, such as dashboards, data visualizations, machine learning models and automated information exchange solutions. It is a technical team with a strongly driven and innovative character. In the team you will work on different products together with another UX Designer. Together you are committed to identifying the needs of users and opportunities for data-driven products.

As a designer, you contribute to the development of user-friendly and valuable data-driven products, both internally for your own employees and externally for target group organizations. As a service designer you will conduct user research and convert this into solutions and facilitate workshops.

As a (service) designer within this team you will, among other things:

• Conduct user research with organizations.
• Developing concepts in the form of, for example, user journeys, user flows or empathy maps.
• Present findings and insights to internal stakeholders
• Facilitate design thinking workshops and knowledge sessions for colleagues and stakeholders
• Help standardize design processes by choosing tooling, templates and documentation that suit the challenges within the organization.
• Actively contribute to the substantive design of UX Design as an expertise within the team and the organization.
